The United States from the Texas licence exports and the Vermont captive register, Canada from the OSFI register, Mexico from the AMIS directory and Bermuda’s ABIR commercial reinsurers; selected Central American and Caribbean groups are compiled from market knowledge and flagged as such.
Canada
Federally regulated insurers from the OSFI register: life, property and casualty and mortgage insurers, fraternals and the Canadian branches of foreign carriers. Provincially incorporated insurers are not itemised.
United States
The world’s largest insurance market, regulated state by state through the NAIC system. Texas-licensed carriers of every type stand in for the national admitted population, with the Vermont captive register in full.
Bermuda
The world’s reinsurance and captive hub: the BMA Class 4 and other commercial (re)insurers that make up ABIR’s membership. Captives and special purpose insurers are not itemised.
Mexico
CNSF-supervised insurers and surety companies (afianzadoras) from the AMIS member directory and the CNSF padrón, with Patria Re as the only domestic reinsurer.
Central America & Caribbean
Selected principal groups from Guatemala and Panama to the Dominican Republic and Trinidad, compiled from market knowledge; the Bermuda and Cayman registers are not itemised.
