2292 rows, one per entity; 508 Texas-domestic, ~1,780 foreign (other US states) and 14 alien insurers; class derived from TDI company type and licensed lines, except fraternal benefit societies and mortgage insurers: the 41 fraternals are classed L (Texas Insurance Code s.885.301 permits death, endowment, annuity, disability, hospital/medical and funeral benefits, and the published product range of each society was checked individually on 8 Sep 2026) and the 19 mortgage insurers are classed X; NAIC group given as code (names not in export). Knowledge rows for US carriers removed. Scope: presence in a TDI export is not a claim of unrestricted Texas direct-insurance authorisation - each row's registration category is in its Notes, and TDI states that accredited assuming insurers are authorised in their domicile but not in Texas. The TDI exports hold 2323 registrations covering 2292 entities: 28 carriers are registered under more than one category, and those 31 duplicate rows were merged on 8 Sep 2026 so this sheet now carries one row per entity, its Notes listing every registration oldest first (25 reinsurers registered under two or three of Trusteed / Certified / Reciprocal Jurisdic / Accredited, and 3 admitted insurers - Compass, Physicians Insurance A Mutual, Pillar Life - that are also accredited assuming reinsurers and keep their admitted class). The 1900 NAIC codes are unique. The Texas and Vermont segments do not overlap: one name (Celtic Insurance Company) appears in both and needs checking, everything else is disjoint 710 licensed captives, RRGs, sponsored cells and special-purpose life reinsurers with licence numbers, matching the DFR licence summary for 30 Jun 2026 (682 active + 28 dormant = 710 currently licensed); type inferred from name Extended state by state on a domicile basis: each state's own list of the insurers domiciled there, which partitions the national population without the double counting an admitted register would cause. How to read the classes

The NAIC / state DOIs register entry does not state a class of business or a parent group for 710 of these 4,157 entities. Where shown, class and group were inferred from the entity name (see the “basis” line on each insurer page). “Not stated in register” means the name gave no signal; most such undertakings write non-life or composite business.
